Virginia Get-Out-The-Vote Maps
FairVote2020 has developed two separate interactive map applications showing voter registration in Virginia by precinct as
of 2000. The first -- Unregistered Over 18 Population in 2000 by Precinct -- shows the unregistered population at the time of the 2000 election. The
second -- Registered Voters by Party in Southside Virginia -- shows registered voters and political party affiliation based on a geocoded list of registered
voters in the area encompassing the old 4th Congressional district in Southside Virginia (106th Congress). Red colors indicate areas of low voter registration in both
applications.
Additional maps include census data on race, ethnicity and income. Change maps by clicking on the map under "Compare Maps"
on the left. You may zoom in on the map by clicking on the appropriate button at the top and then on the map.

adjusted for non-citizens. Precinct boundaries are those in effect in 2000. Pie charts display in areas with significant minority population, showing race/ethnicity components for
the over 18 population.

Application 2
Registered Voters by Party in Southside Virginia (2001
data)
Map 1 (default map) -- Registered Voters by Party in Southside Virginia (2001 data)
Geocoded to block level -- based on early 2001 registration data in Congressional District 4 prior to the 2001 redistricting. Approximately 3% of registered voters
are excluded due to geocoding inaccuracies. Additional discrepancies between 2001 voter data and the 2000 census result in some blocks showing more voters than voting age
population. A geocoding issue in and around Wakefiled in Sussex County results in a significant undercount of the registered population at the block level in that
area.
No adjustments have been made for prison populations. Precinct boundaries (VTDs) do not reflect changes made in 2001.Block-level themes display at 5 miles,
political party charts at 3 miles.
