FairData's interactive maps have been online since 2002. Until the launch of PolicyMap in May 2008, FairData was the only free publicly available source for nationwide block group-level interactive maps showing socioeconomic characteristics. We encourage all users of FairData maps to check out PolicyMap.

To access the interactive maps, click the arrow logo   available from one of the  pages listed in the index below or select an item from the sidebar to the left.

A Google Map interface option is active in most of the demographic and GOTV maps.

We produced 30 interactive maps and over 10,000 Adobe PDF precinct maps leading up to the 2004 general election. Visit the FairPlan2020 blog for details on post-2004 updates to the GOTV maps.

Voting Plans

Since the release of the 2000 census, over 250 election plans (multiple drafts) were developed by the FairPlan project -- primarily at the request of  minority communities involved in local level redistricting in 25 states. During the 2000's, we have testified in federal court or were deposed in about 15 redistricting lawsuits and provided technical assistance in a dozen others.

Below are a selection of on-line illustrative plans prepared since 2001. Stored off-line are thousands of drafts developed for over 600 places since the late 1980's.
